In May of 2008, Cain Tubular Products was contacted to determine if we could help solve a tube coiling problem NASA and Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne were having with the pre-production and planning of the J-2X Rocket Engine.  There began an all out development effort on the part of Cain to produce the HEX Coil, to the standards required by NASA, an effort 11 other companies set-out to attempt, but ultimately failed.  Cain’s success in the development process of the coil has brought them a tremendous amount of recognition with NASA in the process.  We are committed to further helping raise awareness to the program and the development of the first major rocket engine in over 40 years for our nation.  We are proud to be part of this national undertaking, and humbled to have been asked to join this team of very remarkable manufacturers across the nation.  Please visit the links below, to learn about the engine and its development.
